FAQ
1. What is Vault Town?
Vault Town is a platform where communities can lock their tokens in project-specific Vaults to reduce selling pressure, earn rewards, and signal long-term conviction. It's part game, part strategy, and all about collective hoarding power.
2. How do I join Vault Town?
Just connect your crypto wallet. Once connected, you'll get a profile automatically, where you can customize your username, avatar, and start locking tokens into Vaults.
3. What is a Vault and how does it work?
A Vault is a token-specific pool where users can lock their assets for a fixed duration (called an Epoch). In return, they receive rewards based on their contribution and loyalty. Vaults are created by projects and joined by their communities.
4. What rewards can I earn?
Rewards vary by Vault and are set by the project team. They can include more own tokens, bonus incentives, or extra rewards for the most loyal ranking hoarder called Lord of the Vault. The more you lock, the more you earn - especially if you hold through the full Epoch.
5. What is an Epoch?
An Epoch is a fixed lock-up period within a Vault - typically ranging from 1 week to 3 months. Once an Epoch begins, tokens are non-withdrawable until it ends. After it finishes, rewards can be claimed and a new Epoch can begin.
6. What are deposit fees?
When you lock tokens into a Vault, a small deposit fee may be applied - usually set by the project behind that Vault. These fees help fund rewards, support the project, or contribute to the Vault Town treasury. The fee is deducted once at the time of deposit, and is always visible before you confirm the lock.
7. Can I withdraw my locked tokens?
No. Once you lock tokens in a Vault, they stay there until the current Epoch ends. That's the whole point: Vault Town is built for conviction. If you want flexibility, wait until the next Epoch begins — or create one with your own terms.
8. How do withdrawals work?
Once your lock duration (Epoch) ends, you can withdraw your tokens at any time. Until that Epoch ends, your tokens stay locked. Early withdrawals are not possible by design. Vault Town is built to reward commitment, not quick exits. If you want flexibility, wait for the next Epoch or choose a shorter duration when locking.
9. What does "Enter New Epoch" mean?
If you still have tokens locked when a vault begins a new Epoch, you won't be automatically included in the next round. To continue earning rewards without re-locking manually, you'll see an "Enter New Epoch" button in the vault interface. Clicking it moves your locked tokens into the new Epoch — using the same amount and duration as before.
